Eligible Categories of Differently Abled Persons

As per the Railway Coaching Tariff No.26 Part-I(Vol-II) of the Indian Railway, rail travel concessions are provided to the following categories of differently abled persons on production of concession certificate issued by government doctors:

i. Orthopedically handicapped/ Paraplegic persons
ii. Persons with Intellectual disability
iii. Persons with Speech and Hearing Impairment completely
iv. Persons with Blindness

Documents Required

As per the Railway Coaching Tariff No.26 Part-I(Vol-II) of the Indian Railway, rail travel concessions are provided to the following categories of differently abled persons on production of concession certificate issued by government doctors:

1. Railway concession certificate obtained from a Government Doctor.
2. Disability certificate obtained from the State Government. (Optional)
3. Proof for Date of Birth. (Other than Aadhar Card)
4. Proof in Identity
5. Address proof
6. Passport size photograph (2 Nos)

Online ID cards

With effect from 01.10.2022 an exclusive website was introduced to enable the Divyangjan persons to register for PHID card by online mode and to avoid the hardship of divyangjan persons having to travel to the Railway office for submission of application and collection of PHID cards. Now after the introduction of online mode, the applicant has to login to as new user of DIVYANGJAN WEBSITE and upload the necessary documents. Verification of the documents submitted online is also verified by us in the same manner as followed in manual mode. After successful approval of the same, the beneficiaries can download their PHID card online.
