One Station One Product (OSOP) – Objectives & Eligibility

Objective

The “One Station One Product” scheme announced in the Union Budget 2022–23 has the following four-fold objectives:

  • Promoting the “Vocal for Local” vision of Government of India.
  • Providing a market for local and indigenous products.
  • Providing an opportunity to railway passengers to experience India’s rich heritage and buy local products.
  • Creating additional income opportunities for marginalised sections of society.

Eligibility Criteria

Selection must ensure that the benefits reach the marginalised sections, i.e., individuals at the bottom of the economic pyramid. Priority shall be given to the following categories:

  • Holders of Artisan/Weaver ID Cards issued by:
    • Development Commissioner (Handicrafts)
    • Development Commissioner (Handloom)
    • State or Central Government authorities
  • Artisans/weavers/craftsmen registered with:
    • TRIFED
    • NHDC (National Handloom Development Corporation)
    • KVIC (Khadi & Village Industries Commission)
  • Self Help Groups (SHGs) registered under PMEGP.
  • Individuals from marginalised or weaker sections of society.
  • Artisans/weavers/craftsmen associated with:
    • Udyam-registered Micro Enterprises (MSME)
    • NGOs
  • Individuals associated with Social Organisations / State Govt. bodies. No separate logo shall be allowed.

Purpose of the Scheme

The purpose of OSOP is not revenue generation for Railways, but to:

  • Showcase indigenous products
  • Promote local artisanship
  • Create livelihood opportunities for artisans, weavers and craftsmen/craftswomen
  • Support skill development among local communities

OSOP Outlet Allotment Duration & Fees

Standard Allotment

  • Normal allotment duration is 15 days.
  • Registration Fee: ₹1000 (inclusive of GST) per 15 days.

For NSG-4, NSG-5 & NSG-6 Stations

  • Registration Fee: ₹500 (inclusive of GST) per 15 days.
  • Applicable with DRM approval based on:
    • Low footfall
    • Stall viability
    • Local conditions

Extended Allotment (up to 3 months)

  • DRM is empowered to allow allotment for up to 3 months.
  • Registration fee and electricity charges increase proportionately.

Festival / Special Event Allotment

  • Short-duration allocations allowed for up to 7 days.
  • Registration Fee: ₹100 per day (inclusive of GST).
  • Applicable to all categories of stations.

Electricity Charges

  • Each OSOP outlet is permitted a maximum of 20 units of electricity per 15-day spell.
  • These units are included in the registration fee.
  • Additional electricity usage will be charged on actual consumption basis.
